Bernard Ward Elementary Presents:
The Illinois PBIS Network 2008 Winter Leadership Conference
In January, Mrs. Marion, Mrs. Olander, Ms. Wedel, and Dr. Thompson traveled to Fairview Heights, Illinois to present at the annual Illinois PBIS Network 2008 Winter Leadership Conference. During their session, they discussed how B.J. Ward uses data to make decisions and develop interventions to promote positive behavior among students. The presenters enjoyed the opportunity to share the successes of Ward’s PBIS.

Student Success Guide All students at B.J. Ward are given a student success guide that includes all of the cool tools under our behavior expectations: Be Responsible, Be Respectful, and Be Safe. We focus on a different "cool tool" each week based on the behaviors displayed by the students. We have seen much success from our students, and their ability to remember all of the expectations based on the continued use of their success guide and the classroom teaching of the cool tools!

Ms. Wedel's PBIS Shuffle During the 2006-2007 school year, Ms. Wedel's first grade class performed for the school to the lyrics of their PBIS Shuffle. This was a great way for the students to get excited about our PBIS program!
