Course Description

During the seventh grade quarter of general music, students will explore opera, the American musical, folk, jazz, and popular music. Students will further their knowledge of note names, rhythms, and musical vocabulary through the piano keyboard and guitar. These objectives are met through class discussion and lecture, written assignments, written tests, instrument practice, and instrument tests.

Course Description

Students will explore the history of the piano keyboard, learn musical terms and vocabulary, read notes in treble and bass clef, count rhythms, and read intervals and chords. These objectives are met through class discussion and lecture, written assignments, written tests, piano practice, and piano tests.
