We're on the Course for Smooth Sailing
We love to celebrate birthdays here at school but they must be kept simple. We usually have birthday celebrations that last 20 minutes of class. Cookies, cupcakes, or some other small treat would be appreciated. Cakes are time consuming to cut and pass out.
Your child will need his/her backpack every day. Your child will be bring home classroom readers and it makes it so much easier to carry these in a backpack. Your child will also be bringing home a take home folder each night containing work, letters from school, letters or notes from me or assignments. PLEASE take the time necessary to read or skim each of these notes, as they are very important. Your child should have an empty folder each day-only containing notes or homework for me!
During the year, I will send home book club ordering forms from Scholastic Books. Please know that participation is purely optional. Because the books are reasonable I feel it is worth offering to those families who wish to participate. If you choose to participate be sure to include the order form and send it in by the specified date. Make checks payable to Scholastic Book Clubs. Please remember that I cannot place the order before you pay.
