Building Operations & Maintenance

The Valley View School District consists of 21 schools/locations totaling approximately 2.4 million square feet. The grounds include 435 acres of grass to mow and 103 acres of asphalt to snow plow and maintain as well as 57 acres of buildings. An essential factor in the efficient operation of a school district is a well-organized, responsive building operations and maintenance department.

The operation generally includes the day-to-day services necessary to maintain the buildings and grounds in a usable condition. In addition to the above mentioned mowing and plowing, the department's responsibilities include repairs, replacements, and renovations, as needed, to maintain the buildings' heating and cooling, lighting, electrical, plumbing and equipment, to name a few.

During the summer we will be renovating eight (8) schools in the district. The renovations will include new lighting, ceilings, floors and provide additional storage in each classroom. More power and data outlets will be provided for the ever-growing need for more technology use in the classroom. Also, we will be upgrading the heating/cooling systems in the schools for better temperature control.
