Transportation Department

The transportation department administers transportation services for approximately 11,000 students. The daily operations include transportation services for regular and special education students, Out of District Programs, The Wilco Educational Program, field trips and after school activities.

In July 2006, the new Spangler Transportation Center opened at its new location of 39 East Forestwood Drive in Romeoville. This state-of-the-art facility accommodates an employee training center, full service vehicle maintenance department, administrative offices and parking for 166 school buses. The Spangler Transportation Center employees over 230 bus drivers, bus monitors, office and maintenance staff.

In August 2006, Valley View Public Schools began providing in-house transportation services for special education and bilingual students. With the addition of seventy-six new special education buses, we now service 18 in-district and 34 out-of-district schools.
