Welcome to Third Grade

Third grade is a time to experience important transitions and acquire new skills, as it is a bridge between second and fourth grade. We hope to instill a love of learning that will last throughout your child’s years of schooling!

Your child deserves the most positive educational climate for academic growth. Our discipline policy ensures that every child will manage his or her own behavior. Each child has the opportunity to make appropriate choices in forming good behavior habits. Irene King School promotes a behavior policy that teaches our children to be Respectful, Responsible, and Safe not only in the classroom, but also in the hallway, in the cafeteria, on the playground, and on the bus.

The third grade team all follow the color chart system and have their own classroom expectations that the children are required to follow.

The inquiring minds of third graders will be challenged with many exciting hands on activities that follow the Illinois Learning Standards and district curriculum.
