All About Mrs.
Schneider
This is my second year at IHK. I
am the Reading Intervention Teacher. I work with 1st graders in the
mornings in King's Castle and 3rd-5th graders in the afternoons. I am also
the Newspaper Club sponsor. I enjoy working with the students, staff, and
parents at IHK.
Education and
Experience
I graduated from Purdue University in
West Lafayette, Indiana in May of 2002. I received my undergraduate degree
in Elementary Education. I also have a Reading minor and a Computer
endorsement. I taught in both a Multiage Intermediate classroom (3rd-5th)
and a Multiage Primary classroom (1st-2nd) before moving to Illinois. I
plan to continue my education in the Fall of 2006 at Lewis University. I
will be attending to receive my Masters in Reading and Literacy.
Educational
Beliefs
“ Tell me, I forget. Show me, I
remember. Involve me, I understand.” I believe that students understand
more when they are able to participate in hands-on activities. I have a
passion for teaching, a love for learning, and dedication to children. It
is very important to me to be a positive role model to the students at IHK.
I care very much for my students and hope they grow up to be life long learners
and contributing members of society.
Hobbies
I like to read, volunteer, work on
the computer, and spend time with my family and friends. I like to keep
busy!
