Art Open House

Independence School will be having an Art Open House.  Come stroll the hallways filled with student artwork.  Also come visit our new art room.

When:  Thursday, November 15, 2007 (during Family Reading Night)

Time:  6:30pm-8pm 

Place:  Independence School

An artistic story will be read.  Face painting will be available.  Cookies and punch will be served in the art room.

The Art Institute Chicago

On November 20, 2007 our 5th grade students will be taking a field trip to the Art Institute Chicago.  We will be leaving Independence School at approximately 10:15am and returning at 1:15pm.  The cost per student will be $5.00, which includes admission to the museum and transportation.  Students will need a sack lunch to eat in the classroom upon their return.  Students will be able to order a sack lunch from the cafeteria the morning of the field trip if they do not bring one from home.

Students are not permitted to participate in this field trip unless they have returned a signed permission slip, and payment for the trip, on or before November 7, 2007.
