My name is Alicia Kinane and I am the traveling art teacher. I currently teach at Tibbott, McGee, Independence and Ward. This is my second year teaching at Valley View and my ninth year teaching.
This year I have the following classes: 1Jenkins and 1Prater.
We will concentrating on the elements of art paired with an artist. So after an introduction to art procedures, the students will meet Pable Picasso and Alexander Calder and do a project about line. They will then meet Henri Matisse, Stuart Davis and Romare Bearden while creating a shape project. Color will be next and the artists will be Piet Mondrian and Vassily Kandinsky. Creating portraits will follow with a study of Frieda Kahlo and Amedeo Modigliani. Aztec Sun gods and Masks will bring us to studying Ancient Artists and Craftsman. Puppet making will introduce us to Paul Klee and Meret Oppenheim. While creating different types of painting, we will meet Winslow Homer and Claude Monet. Training our eyes to draw we will meet Leonardo Da Vinci. The students will be printmaking and meet MC Esher.
