Welcome to Mr. Darley’s
Marvelously Magnificent Musical Montage!
News Update:
WOW! The Jonas Salk School represented the building in an outstanding fashion on December 12, 2007! The 60 member choir visited the residents at Meadowbrook Manor to sing some holiday songs. Residents were very happy to see some young faces and hear the music (some were literally in tears!)
Congratulations Salk Choir!
News Update:
What a great concert experience we had a Humphrey Middle School on December 3rd! I am so proud of all the children's efforts! What a crowd!!! We hope the audience members enjoyed watching the show as much as we enjoyed performing!
I am happy to be back at Salk School for the first semester and Tibbott School for the second half of the 2007-08 year! My goal is to infuse a love and understanding of musical ideas, and expressions into all Valley View children as we explore together! We will build upon what we learned last year to create more joyful noise in and around our school.
Grades 1-2 will be investigating different qualities of music such as fast and slow, loud and soft and other dynamics through songs, activities, and performances.
Grades 3-5 will study several topics this year including Music Fundamentals (reading and writing traditional music), Acoustic Guitar, and Recorders. All classes will also have an opportunity to participate in an evening performance for the public at the end of the semester.
Parents, please feel free to call or e-mail me with any questions you may have about the music curriculum, as I will be happy to talk to you! Working together as a team, I anticipate this year to be a tremendous success as the children establish and nurture their gifts in the fine arts!
