What We’ll Be
Doing
This year will be the best year
ever for Heroes! I’m Mrs.
Wisniewski and I’m so excited to join you in our Literature and Communications
classes this year.
In literature class, we’ll be studying lots of amazing books, short
stories, poetry, poets and authors.
I spend lots of time reading good books, and hope to share my passion for
them with you this year. We’ll be
learning all about how to become better, more effective readers and how to make
sense of what we’re reading.
Communications class will include lots of projects from other classes
like Science, Math, and Social Studies as well as Literature. We’ll learn how to become better writers
and speakers. Just a few of the
things we’ll learn are: computer
research and keyboarding skills, writing plays, the six traits of writing, scary
stories, and
how to take notes.
What I
Believe
I want The Heroes not to just be a name but a
destination within each person. I
believe that students are the travelers and we, as teachers, are guides. I am working to make each student the
captain of their own success, academically, socially, and emotionally. I believe that critical thought and
self-evaluation are important tools for future success in life. My classroom is a place that is safe for
students to be themselves and explore new ideas. I look forward to us challenging each
other to reach our highest potential, and to find the hero in ourselves and
others.
