Welcome to Reading Interventions

Services are available to students with reading difficulties. Reading Recovery is a one-on-one daily intervention with a first grade student and a Reading Recovery teacher for a twenty week maximum. Hopefully the student will be able to read at the average level of his classmates at the end of this time frame. If he is not proficient, he will then participate in a literacy group if a slot becomes available. The second intervention offered is the literacy group for first and second graders. These students participate in this program until they are able to read at an average level. After first grade students discontinue from Reading Recovery mid-year, the next needy students participate in Reading Recovery, Waterford is a third intervention. It is a daily computer program.,
