Valley View Accolade July 2006

Valley View School District 365U has been awarded its tenth consecutive Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting Program (COE) from the Association of School Business Officials (ASBO). The district has provided a high-quality Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for the fiscal year end 2005.

The Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting Program was designed by ASBO International to enable school business officials to achieve a high standard of financial reporting. The award, the highest recognition for school district financial operations offered by ASBO, is only conferred to school systems that have met or exceeded the standards of the program.

By preparing a Comprehensive Annual Financial Report, Valley View School District 365U validated the credibility of their school system's operations, measured the integrity and technical competence of the business staff, assisted in strengthening their presentations for bond issuance statements, and provided professional recognition.

"Participation in the Certificate of Excellence Program is such a rewarding experience," said Gary Grizaffi, Assistant Superintendent for Administrative Services. "Attaining this award brings a feeling of confidence and has remarkably increased our financial reporting credibility, not only to the District, but to the entire community of Valley View School District 365U stakeholders. We are able to prepare this quality report primarily through the professional efforts of our district treasurer, Joanne Bourg.
