Illinois State Board of Education

A number of Valley View administrators and classroom teachers were recently invited to provide public comment at the Illinois State Board of Education regarding pending proposed rules and regulations in response to passage of the 2004 Federal IDEIA Act. The testimony was instrumental in passage of the proposed regulations that will guide school district in using data collection to make decisions that will meet student needs by implementing research-based interventions.

The team representing Valley View School District 365U included: Matt Barbini, Director of Special Education; Johnnie Thomas, Assistant Director of Special Education; Faith Dahlquist, principal of Independence Elementary School; Dana Smith, principal of Beverly Skoff Elementary School; Megan Healy, fourth grade teacher, Independence Elementary School; and Michelle Stoerhrmann, Special Education teacher.
