Dec 06 Humphrey Middle School 8th grade girls basketball team won the 2006 IESA Class 4A state championship title on December 14, 2007, the first team state championship title for a Valley View middle school.
Dec 06 Lauren Rentfro, Principal of Hermansen Elementary School, has been asked to present at the National Association of Elementary School Principals at the 86th annual convention in Seattle, Washington in April, 2006 on the topic of "Preparing and Presenting Parent Universities".
Nov 06 A number of Valley View administrators and classroom teachers were recently invited to provide public comment at the Illinois State Board of Education regarding pending proposed rules and regulations in response to passage of the 2004 federal IDEIA Act. (more)

Sep 06 Jane Addams Middle School has been named as one of the top 10 schools in Illinois for their caring efforts by students and staff in raising more than $4,055 on behalf of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society during 2006. Valley View School District 365U faculty staff members also contribute more than $40,000 annually to United Way of Will County, the Valley View Educational Enrichment Foundation, and other charitable organizations.

Jul 06 "Romeoville High School student, Cadet Major Rachele Cejka (MCJROTC), was presented with a Marine Corps JROTC Legion of Valor Medal of Achievement at the Headquarters for the United States Marines in Quantico, Virginia in July, 2006. Only nine of these medals are presented annually by the Marine Corps to outstanding cadets."

Apr 06 Bolingbrook High School has met all requirements to be named as a LEED - Certified (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) facility for sustainable building design and performance standards by the U.S. Green Building Council. Bolingbrook is the first High School in Illinois to attain such a designation.
