State, national recognition for BHS twirler

 

    Bolingbrook High School sophomore Nicola “Nicci” Colucy is having quite a summer.
     A member of the BHS Marching Raiders and featured twirler at BHS football games last year, Nicci won the National Baton Twirling Association Junior Midwest Regional championship in June and followed up with a 7th place medal this month at the American Youth on Parade National Twirling Competition.
     Nicci, a BHS Thespian, a Symphonic Band percussionist and an honor student, is the daughter of Jim and Jeri Colucy of Bolingbrook. Upon graduation she plans on studying theatre and education, possibly at Northern Illinois University where she also hopes to twirl for football games.
