Lukancic Principal Castillo leaving to take asst. superintendent position in Addison

   Lukancic Middle School Principal Dr. Omar Castillo has accepted a position as Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning for Addison Elementary School District 4.
     Dr. Castillo, who will begin his new duties Aug. 1, has been Lukancic’s Principal since the school opened for the 2006-07 school year. He joined Valley View for the 2002-03 school year as an assistant principal at A. Vito Martinez Middle School after teaching 7th and 8th grade math at Holden School in Chicago for six years.
     A Bolingbrook resident, Dr. Castillo recently received his Doctorate in Educational Administration from Illinois State University. He holds two Master’s Degrees as well.
     He will assume his new position Aug. 2.
     The Addison district includes eight elementary schools.
