Mayor Claar visits Coyote Club

Recently Coyote Club, Wood View PTA's before & after school activity program, was paid a visit from Mayor Roger Claar of Bolingbrook. Mayor Claar dropped in on October 9th, (accompanied by an intern whom one of the students thought was a bodyguard!), to celebrate "Lights On" with us. "Lights On" is a program of the National PTA to highlight Before and After School Programs for children of working parents. Elected officials were invited to visit schools in their districts or communities and see for themselves what kind of care the children are receiving. Mayor Claar was a big hit with the students. They asked him some very good questions and he seemed to enjoy the visit as much as the staff and students did!

To support “Lights On” the students colored paper light bulbs that were sent to the National PTA for distribution to senators and representatives to bring to their attention the need for Before and After School Programs in our country. Nationally, many students do not have anyone to care for them and may make some unwise choices that have long term consequences in their lives. Wood View families are fortunate to have access to a convenient and affordable Before and After School Program where their children can be cared for in a safe environment at Coyote Club.
