As an extension of our Language Arts story, "Catch Me If You Can", Mrs. Anding's first grade decided to take a moment (two weeks later) and dig into some data about Dinosaurs. We took virtual field trips on the internet, read several factual books about dinosaurs, and watched "Lifestyles of the Large and Carnivorous", i.e., when and where they roamed, what they ate, and how they became extinct.
The first graders were responsible for gathering the information about dinosaurs by doing research on the internet and classroom library resources. They then worked in groups to create a dinosaur "fact" book about their favorite dinosaurs. We hope you learn something new about dinosaurs you did not know before.
Here are some great dinosaur web sites for your child and you to learn more about about dinosaurs.
