As part of our math activities, Mrs. Anding's First Grade explored how information can be collected and displayed in different forms to tell the same data. Using our new classroom "Smartboard" and "Graph Club" software, the first graders were posed with the question of the day: "How Do You Get to School?". The transporation choices were walking, riding in a vehicle, riding on a bus, or riding on an elephant............................an Elephant?????????
Anyway........................................................
Using our smartboard, each first graders graphed the data, creating a pictograph of how each comes to school. The next day, we reviewed the results of our pictograph and discussed another way in which we could show the same information. Again, using our "Smartboard and "Graph Club", the first graders regraphed how they come to school, this time creating a Bar Graph of the data.
