It seems hard to believe that on December 9th, it was thirty years since Wood View Elementary opened it's doors for the first time to students and families in east Bolingbrook.
To prepare for our celebration, staff and students here at Wood View decorated our halls with colorful versions of our mascot, the Roadrunner. Every class also decorated their classroom doors; reflective of every year Wood View has been open.
On December 9th, Wood View opened it's doors to all in the community, to celebrate our special day with us and, of course, eat birthday cake. Among those who shared our special day with us, we were honored by a visit from Mayor Claar; former principal, Jay Sommerfield; Assistant Superintendent, Jane Westerhold; Director of Technology, Ann Mangold; Principal-Oak View, Anitra McGlothin; former staff members, Dr. Smith, Mrs. Nelson, Mrs. Koerner, Mrs. Lee; former PTA members, former students and families, and many others.
Below, are pictures of our special day, some of our visitors, and all of our decorated, classroom doors.
Wood View is Thirty and Thriving!
