Mrs. Ginger Reynolds

Hello Student and Parents,

I am so thankful to be one of the Reading Recovery and Describiendo la Letura (DLL) teachers this year at B.J. Ward Elementary!  It has been my ultimate teaching goal to spend my day helping readers grow! It has been quite the journey to get to this amazing job.  I was born and raised in New Mexico but just as I was experiencing my first years as a teacher, my husband had a great job opportunity in Illinois so off we went. While getting aclimated to this fine state, I enjoyed some time with my three children exploring, growing and learning together. At the same time, I persued my goal got recertified to teach in Illinois, did some substitue teaching and received my M.A. in Reading and Literacy.  After teaching reading for a few years in Naperville and Lisle, I was able to start here at B.J. Ward as a Reading Specialist in 2012.  Last year I was fortunate enough to be selected to participate in training for certification in Reading Recovery and DLL for our district. Yes! The training last year was very extensive and I gained so much knowledge about teaching reading. I hope to continue to teach reading for many years to come!  In addition, I am a member of the community and truly believe in the teaching and beliefs of VVSD.  All of my children have attended VVSD schools. One is in High School and two are currently continuing their education attending college.  The diversity in Bolingbrook as well as the opportunities availble are truly above all others.
