  • About Our Program

Valley View School District currently offers two different programs for ELs: transitional program of instruction (TPI) and/or transitional bilingual education (TBE). These programs are designed for non-native  English speaking students who are mastering written or spoken English. These students are identified at the time of enrollment in our district; through the home language survey. Students are then assessed with a state approved language assessment to measure their proficiency in the areas of Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing. We currently offer our TPI program in all 12  elementary schools. Our TBE program is offered  in one of five elementary schools: Independence, Jonas Salk, J.R. Tibbott, B.J.Ward, and Beverly Skoff.  Students in grades 6-12 can also receive ELL services at Brooks Middle School and Bolingbrook High School.
