    Community Tuition Based Preschool  Frequently Asked Questions

     

    How many students will be able to participate in Valley View School District tuition based preschool for the year 2021-2022 school year?

    Answer: The district will offer limited half day tuition based preschool spots and limited full day tuition spots.

     

    What is the adult student ratio in the classroom?

    Answer: There is at least one adult per 10 students.

     

    Does my child have to be potty trained?

    Answer: Yes, your child must be potty trained by the first day of school of the 2020/2021 school year for the community tuition based program.

     

    Are there opportunities for parent involvement?

    Answer: Yes, there are opportunities throughout the school year for parents to volunteer and participate in different activities. We will follow district protocols in regards to COVID-19

     

    Do we have an allergy free environment?

    Answer: Dr. James Mitchem Early Childhood Center is a Peanut/Tree Nut Safe Environment.

     

    How can students participate in the tuition based preschool program?

    Answer: Families that are interested in the program please contact our school at  815-886-7827 Ext: 6142.

     

    Registration process for tuition based preschool?

    Answer: Registration is now open for the 2021/2022 James Mitchem Early Childhood Center Community Tuition Program. Please call 815-886-7827 Ext: 6142.

     

    Do you offer transportation for tuition paying students?

    Answer: Transportation will be the responsibility of the family.

     

    What schedule will the tuition based preschool program follow?

    Answer: The community tuition based program will attend according to the James Mitchem Early Childhood Center calendar.  The preschool program will follow the Valley View School District  calendar.  The district calendar can be found on the district website.

     

    How much will it cost for my students to attend the preschool program?

    Answer: The annual cost is $2450 for the half day program, plus an additional $75 registration fee

    Half Day Program:

    • Option 1:  $2450 a year, if paid in full you receive a 4% discount
    • Option 2: 10 monthly equal payments of $245, first payment due August 16th, 2021

     

    Full Day Program:  9:00 am - 3:15 pm

    • Option 1: $6000 a year, includes breakfast, lunch and snack
    • Option 2: 10 monthly equal  payments of $600, first payment due August 16th, 2021

     

    Do I have to reside in the Valley View School District boundaries in order to attend?

    Answer: First priority will be given to Valley View School District residence; if openings are available and there is no one on the waiting list, outside residence will be considered with ⅓ upcharge for out of district residence.

     

    What happens if payment is late?

    A late fee of $25 will be applied if paid after the first day of school.

    What preschool programs does Valley View Early Childhood Center offer?

    Answer:

     Valley View School District offers the following 2 ½ hour programs during both the AM and PM sessions:

    • Community Tuition based preschool program - half day spots;
    • Starting August 2021 limited full day spots
    • Preschool program for students w/special needs
    • Preschool for all state grant funded program (specific state requirements; you must qualify)

     

    How will I know if I am on the waiting list?

    Answer: A school representative will contact the families by March 15th  with program placement information.

     

    What are the next steps after my child is accepted into the preschool?

    Answer: The school will contact you with more information in regards to the enrollment process
