Degrees and Certifications:
I am a 6th Grade ELA teacher. I co-teach ELA with Mrs. de la Rosa in B36.
I was a Special Education Teacher at Brooks Middle School for 11 years. I have co-taught many content areas from science to social studies to language arts. I co-taught 6th grade Language Arts for the past few years. This is my 13th year of teaching, and I have taught all 13 years at Brooks.
I have a Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education with Language Arts, Social Studies, and Science minors/endorsements. I also have a Master Degree in Special Education – Learning Behavior Specialist 1 (LBS1), and a Master Degree in Reading & Literacy – Reading Specialist/Literacy Coach. I have an English as a Second Language (ESL/ELL) Endorsement as well.
I went to Loyola University Chicago for my undergraduate studies and for my first master’s degree. I received my second master’s degree and ESL endorsement from Benedictine University.
I enjoy reading, going to see movies, traveling, being active, spending time with my niece and nephew, and laughing.
