Mrs. Gina Jordan

My name is Gina Jordan, and I have been teaching for 15 years in the Valley View School District.  Most of my time has been spent teaching kindergarten at Jamie McGee Elementary School.  I love teaching kindergarten because I really enjoy guiding students who are just beginning to learn and grow in a formal setting and watching them make amazing progress!  I also love teaching all subject areas!  Reading and science are my favorites, but I am constantly impressed with how engaged students are in anything math related!

My goal in the classroom is to ensure all students receive the best instruction for the levels where they perform.  To do this, I use a variety of different teaching strategies, including using whole-group, small-group, and one-on-one instruction.  I aim to engage students in as many hands-on activities as I can possibly manage because I feel students learn the most when they are actively exploring and challenging themselves.

I received my Bachelor's Degree in Education from Eastern Illinois University.  Ever the life-long learner, I also received my Master's Degree in Reading and Literacy from Concordia University.  I constantly try to continue my education by reading the latest research in early childhood best practices.  Above all, I try my best to make learning joyful in kindergarten!
