SAT Suite
The SAT is a college admission test that requires students in grade 11 to apply academic knowledge in the areas of reading, writing, and math. To better prepare our students we offer versions of the assessment to students in Grades 8, 9, 10 and 11. This assessment meets the federal requirement for measuring student proficiency in ELA and Math.

Illinois Assessment of Readiness
The IAR is aimed at measuring the achievement of 3rd through 8th grade students in the areas of English language arts and math.

IL Science Assessment
All Illinois students enrolled in grades 5 and 8, and 11 will complete the Illinois Science Assessment. 

ACCESS
ACCESS for ELLs 2.0 is a state and federally mandated assessment for students learning the English language in grades K-12. This assessment tracks students over multiple years to measure their progress in acquiring English proficiency.

Dynamic Learning Maps
Dynamic Learning Maps Alternate Assessment (DLM-AA) is provided to students who are not eligible to take the Illinois Assessment of Readiness or the SAT in grades 3-12. This assessment meets the federal requirement for measuring the learning of cognitively impaired students.

Kindergarten Individual Development Survey (KIDS)
KIDS is an observational assessment tool used with all Kindergarten students to measure problem-solving, self-regulation, social-emotional, literacy, and math development.  

5 Essentials Survey
The 5Essentials Survey is an annual state mandated survey completed by Early Childhood through 12th grade teachers and 4th through 12th grade students. All Valley View parents are also invited to complete the survey.

STAR 360
Star 360 is a computer-based adaptive assessment that measures students' knowledge in the area of reading and mathematics. This assessment is primarily administered in grades K-5, though some students may take this assessment based on their participation in specific instructional programs.

Naglieri
The Naglieri Nonverbal Abilities Test, Third Edition (NNAT-3) is a non-verbal abilities assessment utilized as one measure that may identify Valley View students for the Challenge Program. 

Fountas & Pinnell
Fountas & Pinnell is a reading benchmark assessment which is used to identify instructional reading levels.

Achieve3000
Achieve3000 is a supplemental online literacy program that provides ways to measure growth, forecast performance, target instruction, and creates a culture of literacy that supports every student.

Panorama
Panorama helps educators support each student's social-emotional learning and mindset through the administration of a research-based survey tool.  In Valley View, we will be using this tool on a monthly basis to gather student and teacher voice to better inform our instructional programs.

VVSD Common Assessments

IAR Parent Portal
Introducing https://il-results.pearsonaccessnext.com, where you can access individual student results and resources to support everything you need to know about your child's performance on the Illinois Assessment of Readiness for English Language Arts and Math. This portal also allows you to add your student’s Spring 2021 test results to your user account and access them in the future.

Video Individual Score Reports (Video ISRs)
Video ISRs are personalized videos created specifically for your student that walk through the information presented on their student's score report. Delivered via the IAR Parent Portal, video ISRs combine student-specific animation and voice overs to help you better understand your student’s assessment results and direct you to resources that are tailored for your student's needs. We encourage you to watch these videos with your child and discuss any questions with your student’s teacher.
