Special Education
Special Education Services provides special education services in order to promote student success for students who meet the criteria for federal and state special education eligibility. Services include academic, related services, transition services, social-emotional, behavioral, and other services to support students in the learning environment.
The Special Education Department provides a full continuum of services and placement to meet the needs of students between the ages of 3 and 22 who are found to be eligible for special education due to a disability that adversely impacts their educational functioning. This includes Extended School Year Programming for maintenance of skills. Eligibility for Extended School Year is based on evidence of substantial regression and recoupment issues.
Related Services can include but are not limited to speech and language, adapted PE, physical and occupational therapy, social work, psychological services, transportation, and behavior intervention plans. Hearing and Vision services are also available. More information on special education and related services can also be found on the Illinois State Board of Education's website.
