Welcome!  My name is Kara Brook, and I am the English teacher in the Resource Center as well as a College Prep Reading teacher.  I started in the district in 2003, coming over to Bolingbrook High School in 2016.  I love reading, and want to inspire students to lose themselves in books.

The Resource Center is a place where students can come to for help on any of their English or Reading assignments.  When students come to me, they can expect to get one on one or small group help with reading and writing.  The goal of the Resource Center is to increase students' comprehension in reading and improve their writing through editing and revision.  This is a unique opportunity for our students, and I strongly encourage them to come to the Resource Center!

College Prep Reading is a class that will help prepare students for college and career by providing strategies in literacy including reading, vocabulary, writing, listening, and speaking. We will also be promoting independent reading and choice to encourage students to read more on a daily basis. I am excited to use my Reading Specialist degree to help students become life long readers.
