Bachelor of Arts in English and Secondary Education
Mrs. Connie Burke
I have been teaching high school students since 2012. Currently, I have the pleasure of teaching English 10 and College Prep Reading 9 at Romeoville High School.
Before starting my teaching career, I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and secondary education from Freed-Hardeman University, a private school in Tennessee. Prior to that, I attended Lincoln-Way East High School in Frankfort, Illinois.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy walking, gardening, and spending time with my family. A typical Sunday for me includes spending time with my parents, siblings, nieces and nephews, and husband. We do everything from fishing to garage saling.
As a teacher, I regard my profession with the utmost sincerity and enthusiasm. My goal each day is to help students learn what is important in life and in the classroom. I strive to be a teacher that helps students understand how to be good learners and good people because, as Nelson Mandela once said, "A good head and good heart are always a formidable combination."
