About Mr. C
My name is Mr. Chernobrov, although most students just call me Mr. C. I teach Applied Technology at Brooks Middle School, which is a course that focuses on computer skills and computer safety. I grew up here in the Chicago area (Lisle) and knew that I wanted to be a teacher since my own experiences in middle school and high school. I got my bachelors degree from Knox College in central Illinois, focusing on secondary education and social studies.
After finishing that degree in 2008, I went on to teach history at Beardstown Middle/High School for eight years. During that time, I completed my masters degree in instructional technology at Western Illinos University, while also taking additonal coursework in computer science. As a result of those experiences, I recieved my certification as a school technology specialist and became endorsed to teach business and computers.
With new credentials in hand, I shifted to a new role and worked as a district technology specialist since 2012 with Community Unit School District 15. I greatly enjoyed my technology work, but began to miss my time in the classroom Teaching students was the absolute most fun I'd ever had and I wanted to get back into the classroom full-time. So with that in mind, I obtained a regular teaching position here at Valley View for the 2016-2017 school year. As your new Applied Technology teacher, I look forward to getting to know all of the students that make Brooks such a great learning community.
