Ms. Dianna Dark

My name is Dianna Dark and this is my 20th year as a Middle School Counselor.

I finished my Masters in Counseling in 1980. I had just moved to Dallas and was given the opportunity to work in the field of business. I ended up staying in Customer Service Management for 10 years, but ultimately decided it was time to get back to my original goal of being a Counselor.

In 1991 I began as an Adolescent Mental Health Counselor at a Psychiatric Hospital in Hoffman Estates. Eventually, I was able to earn my Type 73 and started as a School Counselor in the fall of 1996.

Working with Middle School Students is challenging, largely because, this is one of the most difficult developmental phases in any person’s life. Helping students navigate their way through puberty, peer relationships and taking on greater responsibility makes each day jammed packed, action filled and highly rewarding!

I plan to retire in the Spring of 2018. Let me say that working in this community has been an honor and a privilege!
