Ms. Laurie Deno

Hello! I am Laurie Deno, the 4th grade supported education teacher at Pioneer. This is my 2nd year teaching in the Valley View district, and my 17th year working in special education.

I grew up in the Chicago suburbs and graduated from Downers Grove South in 1995. In 2002 I got my bachelors degree in psychology from the University of St. Francis in Joliet. Shortly after, I received my masters degree in special education from NIU. I am currently working on my degree in Educational Leadership through Concordia University. I love to learn, and hope to help my students do the same!

I have recently returned to the suburbs, and am so happy to be working in the district! When I'm not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, & dog. Some of my hobbies include reading, baking, traveling, and cheering on the Cubs.

I am looking forward to a great school year, and to getting to know all of my students!
