Welcome!  My name is Melissa Elliott-Lowell and I teach English 11 and English 9 Honors here at BHS!  I earned a B.A. in English Literature, with a specialization in Creative Writing, along with minors in Psychology and Classical Civilizations, from Southern Illinois University.  I also received a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from Tennessee State University.

I am a mother of three beautiful children and I am entering my 14th year of teaching, my 8th with BHS.

I believe in creating a positive, motivating, and challenging learning atmosphere designed to support each student's development: academically, socially, and environmentally.

I work very hard to establish genuine connections between students and their learning and I am committed to their individual success. 

I love what I do and I believe that it shows in everything I endeavor!
