Mrs. Amber Froelich, School Psychologist

Hi!  My name is Amber Froelich and I am a School Psychologist.

I am new to VVEC this year.  But I have worked in the Valley View School District for over 10 years at Oak View Elementary.  Previously, I worked in Schaumburg School District 54 for a few years with elementary and middle school students.  I have really enjoyed working with elementary aged students for all these years.  Yet, in college and graduate school, I was a nanny for young children and worked as a pre-school teacher.  So now, I am very excited to be using my skills and knowledge with our pre-k students at the Early Childhood Center.  Part of my role is to conduct play based assessments.  I also complete the academic and cognitive testing for psychoeducational evaluations and consult with classroom teachers.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Illinois Wesleyan University and a Master's degree in School Psychology from Trinity University in San Antonio, Tx.  I have a minor in French and have hosted several students from France during the summer.  My two cats, Mischief and Dell, are a joy to cuddle.  I enjoy traveling with friends and my husband.  I have been to international spots like the Bahammas, Mexico, France, Peru, and Australia, as well as, places in the U.S.  On our bucket list to visit is Maine, Hawaii, Colorado, Ireland, Italy and Greece. Locally, I like taking day hikes to Waterfall Glen and Starved Rock.  Finally, in my free time I enjoy reading romance and mystery stories or watching movies.
