Assistant Director of Student Services
Throughout my career at Valley View School District, I have held several roles within Special Education at Romeoville High School since 2008. I began at RHS as a Special Education Teacher before serving as the Student Resource Team Leader. I am very excited to continue my professional career at RHS as Assistant Director of Student Services for my fourth year. I have the privilege of leading the Special Education Department in continually growing and strengthening our professional practices to maximize student learning so that all students are college and career ready.
After graduating from Illinois State University where I majored in Special Education, I went on to earn a Master of Arts in Teaching in Special Education. In February of 2013, I earned a M. Ed. Educational Leadership from American College of Education.
I am a very proud to work and serve our staff, students and community of Romeoville High School. Each year, we have an outstanding group of students that enter as freshmen. Our belief is that through our Beliefs, Rigor, Assessment, Instruction, and No Excuses mind frame of shared accountability, our students will exit Romeoville High School as graduates equipped with the skills and drive to be life-long learners and meaningful contributors to society.
The Romeoville High School Special Education Department recognizes that each student learns in a unique way. As such, we provide a full continuum of services to students who have been found eligible for special education. The Special Education Department is committed to providing a supportive environment in which our students can develop academic, social-emotional, vocational, and life skills. Our goal is for all students to become self-aware, self-advocating and independent life-long learners.
