Hello,

I am Mrs. Gjini and have been a math teacher at BHS for the last 19 years. I was born in Albania and graduated from the University of Tirana with BS in Physics and then earned my Masters in Art of Teaching of Math in Secondary Education from National Louis University. As the first person in my family to graduate from college, I have a great appreciation for education: I strongly believe that it is liberating, uplifting and empowering, all of which are values that I try to convey to my students.

I am a dedicated mother of two wonderful daughters and personally am an upbeat and self-motivated team player. I attribute the successful handling of family and professional responsibilities to my ability to plan, schedule, and multitask.

I enjoy talking to people and the knowledge and various perspectives that I acquire have strengthened my teaching and presentation abilities. Additionally, it has given me more flexibility in the classroom, where there are many different personalities and learning styles.

My hobby is traveling. There is so much to discover, to know, to  explore and understand- and for me travel is the way to do that. As St. Augustine said: “The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.” I find traveling mind opening and professionally enriching because it helps me be more accommodative to cultures, to food, to traditions and people.
