Hello! My name is Joanna Hanson. I am the Learning Environment Coordinator at Pioneer Elementary.  I went to Illinois State University for Elementary Education.  I have a M.Ed in Trauma and Resilience in Educational Settings, and I am a certified children’s yoga teacher.  I have taught in the Valley View School District for 23 years. I work with staff to create responsive learning environments. I help to provide a safe, positive community by providing a place where students feel safe, heard, respected, and valued.  I have a room called the Peace Room where I provide social emotional activities, calming strategies/mindfulness, movement activities, coping strategies, and other practices to help build a sense of belonging and connections to our school.
