Mrs. Jamie Hunt
I graduated from Northern Illinois University in the winter of 1999 with a bachelors degree in Elementary Education. I began my teaching career in Midlothian School District 143 where I taught both 4th and 5th grade. After moving to the Plainfield area, I began teaching 5th grade at Valley View Elementary. When the building closed, I am able to be one of the many staff members to open Skoff Elementary School. I have been teaching 5th grade there since. In May, 2020 graduated from Univeristy of St. Fracis with a Masters in Teaching & Learning with a focus in English as a Second Language.
Anyone who knows me, knows my love of reading, both in and out of the classroom. I hope it is that love of books that will inspire my students to get lost in literature. I believe every child should be valued and treated with respect in order to build that relationship. An education should empower a child and help him or her make a positive contribution to our world.
I strive to create and maintain an environment where your child can grow and thrive while exploring the world around them. I believe that education must be a partnership between the parents, teacher, and child. I have high expectations (academically and behaviorally), but it is my belief that every child can and will be successful if they are determined to do so.
