Mr. Kleager

My name is Ken Kleager, III and welcome to my page.  I have been a long time resident of Bolingbrook and enjoy teaching for the district.  I graduated from North Central College with my B.A. degree in Instrumental Music Education in June of 2000.  I also have a Masters of Vocal Music Education from VanderCook College of Music in July 2007.  I have been with the district as a general music teacher and choir director since August of 2004.  Prior to joining Valley View, I taught at Fairmont Grade School in Lockport, Illinois, and, Marquette Catholic High School in Ottawa, Illinois.  I currently teach grades 6-8 general music and choir for both Humphrey Middle School and Jane Addams Middle School.  I am also the Key Leader for the middle school general music teachers and I also host the Spring VVSD Elementary/Middle School Choir Festival where over 300+ students gather to sing and perform for our community.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my wife, 2 children, and my dogs, Sebastian and Wolfie.  I am also a professtional musician playing both trumpet and piano throughout Illinois as well as a vocalist.  I have been a trumpet player for over 32 years.  I also enjoy reading, watching movies, and all things Star Wars.  I am also an avid composer and arranger for both bands and choirs.  Should you have any questions about how your child is doing in class, please feel free to e-mail me at
