This is my ninth year of teaching in an elementary setting. Teaching at the 4th and 5th grade level has given me the opportunity to work with a wide range of learners, utilizing a variety of innovative teaching strategies. I have learned to individualize instruction and incorporate technology to perpetuate growth in students with differing strengths, weaknesses, and learning styles. I have had many opportunities to educate very diverse groups of students. Through my experience, I have had the pleasure of working with both students who are advanced, needing to be challenged with higher-level reasoning and critical thinking, and at-risk students, who frequently need extra assistance and guidance. I am an extremely caring educator, always putting the students first, and willing to put forth the extra time and effort to help all children succeed.
In our classroom we have FUN! I treat my students and care for them like I do my own children. I have high expectations and know that each and every child is capable of success.
I am a mom of two awesome kids and my husband is a high-school teacher. Education is very important to our family. I love to workout and take care of myself. I love to run, particularly, trail run and I am a certified yoga teacher. I enjoy sharing my love of health and fitness with my students.
I am very lucky to be in a co-taught classroom and teach with the awesome, Ms. Pedersen. If you would like to know more about her, please click on her page.
I am always here for you! Please contact me with any questions or concerns that you have throughout the school year.
