My name is Shannon McCarthy I am a Career and Technical Education teacher at Bolingbrook High School. In the CTE department, I have taught a variety of Business/Computer courses. The classes I have taught include Personal Finance, Cooperative Work Training, Business Ownership and Operatations, Entrepreneurship, Consumer Education, Introduction to Computers, and Computer Concepts. For the past year I worked as a Dean in the Dean of Students Department and the 6 years before that I have been the deparment chair person for the CTE department. In the upcoming year I will be back in the classroom teaching CTE courses and mentoring the students at Bolingbrook High School.

Prior to teaching, I graduated High School from Lockport Township High School, located in Lockport, Illinois. Upon graduation, I attended Southern Illinois University where I earned my Bachelors Degree in Business- Marketing. I continued my education and and Enrolled in Trinity Christian College where I earned my Secondary Education Teaching Certification. In 2006 I earned my Masters Degree in Administrative (Type 75) Certification from Olivet Nazarine University. 

My Business Management experience includes working as the Marketing Coordinator/Manager for a Hazardous Waste Cleanup Company, Advertising Consultant for a Fortune 500 Company, and Owner/Operater of a Retail Business. Which has led me to working with young adults to assist them with molding their future career plans. The Career and Technical Education classes I will be teaching including.
