Mr. David Morrison
English Teacher, Theatre Director, Thespian Society Sponsor
Greetings and salutations! My name is David Morrison -- one of the English teachers at Bolingbrook High School. I've been happily teaching in the G-Wing since 2014 and plan to "squat" there for years to come. Throughout the day, I teach English 11 and AP Literature & Composition.
Before becoming a teacher in 2013, I spent the better part of a decade working as a stage, small film, and voiceover actor. Throughout grad school, I also worked as a full-time traffic reporter in Chicago, mostly with WBBM Newsradio. The transition to teaching was a natural one: I love making a difference in students' lives. The fulfillment I get from working with students--playing a role in their development as thinkers, writers, and active participants in society--is deeper than I ever had as a performer.
Outside of my dedication to BHS, I spend a lot of time with my wife, Jen, and our greyhound, Peyton. I love reading novels, poetry, and comic books of all varieties (sci-fi & fantasy are among my favorites). I'm also an avid nerd, spending time playing Dungeons & Dragons, board games, and video games. Outdoor time is usually spent around a firepit, BBQing, biking, and occasionally snowboarding.
Yes, this next part deserves its own mini-paragraph. I'm a huge Star Wars fan. 'Nuff said.
If you have any questions about class or your student's progress, I encourage you to email me for the fastest response.
