Mr. Mark Ondracek

This is my 13th year in education and my 4th year at Bolingbrook High School.  I oversee the College and Career Center which provides the students at BHS many opportunities to explore their post-secondary interests and educational goals.  These opportunities include meeting with college representatives, going on college visits, researching scholarship and financial aid information, and exploring various trade and vocational fields.

One of the goals of the Counseling department is to ensure that all students have a plan for after high school.  These paths include attending a two or four year college, enlisting in one of the military branches, enrolling in a trade apprenticeship program, or entering the workforce.  The College and Career Center allows students to gather information in order to find their best fit for life after high school.

I have been married for almost 30 years and my wife is a Special Education Transition Specialist at BHS.  I have four children and they have all chosen different carrer paths.  My oldest son is an attorney and my youngest son is in the U.S. Air Force.  My oldest daughter is a Nurse and my youngest daughter is currently in college studying to be a teacher.

Working with high school students is very rewarding as I have the opportunity to watch them develop into young adults that will impact their world.  Bolingbrook High School allows these students many opportunities to pursue and accomplish their career path.
