Upon graduating from the University of Illinois at Chicago Circle, I started working at the Midwest Stock Exchange as a runner on the trading floor.  I was promoted several times in other positions on the trading floor related to entering trade data for the floor brokers and the stock exchange.  I was then promoted to the public relations department of the stock exchange where I was a public relations writer.  In working in public relations, I was assigned a multitude of tasks beyond just writing newsletters.  As a result, a new position was created for me and titled public relations specialist.

From the stock exchange, I was hired by Citigroup Financial Services as a retirement planning specialist.  In this position I was responsible for holding seminars on retirment planning for various public employee institutions such as, the Chicago Park District, Cook County, Chicago Public Schools and Freeport Memorial Hospital.  From these seminars, I then enrolled these public service employees into tax deferred savings plans (401k, 403b, or 457b).  I also acted in the capacity of a financial counselor to ensure that clients were satisfied with their investment choices.

In 1996, I resigned from Citigroup and went back to college where I obtained a degree in teaching.  Using my life experiences in investing and finance, I have brought these skills into the classroom where I now specialize in teaching personal finance.  Having a flair for digital video editing, I also am in charge of the television program at Romeoville High School.

The 2020/2021 school year will be my 21st year of teaching.
