My name is Meg Roenitz, and I have been teaching at Valley View School District for eleven years.  I am looking forward to another great year at R.C Hill!  This is my twenty third year of teaching, and I have taught kindergarten for 19 years.  I cannot imagine teaching any other grade level!  The curiosity and eagerness that young children have for learning never ceases to amaze me.  It is so rewarding to help young children grasp new skills and concepts.  I am able to provide my students with a strong academic foundation and also foster a love of learning for years to come.              

I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Illinois State University and my Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Governors State University.  I also obtained my certification in teaching English as a Second Language from the University of St. Francis. I have furthered my knowledge of teaching through taking an additional 40 graduate hours in the areas of curriculum, best teaching practices, special education, and the socio-emotional needs of students.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two daughters. I live in nearby Lemont, and often you will see me taking walks around town to get my exercise. I like to read and travel around the country with my family taking in new sights and attractions.  I also enjoy rooting for my favorite Chicago sports team.  Go Cubs!
