Hello Bulldogs!  My name is Mike Sedor, I am the 8th grade dean of students.  I have been a Brooks staff member since 2011.  I started out as a chemist when I graduated from the Universtiy of Iowa, and worked as a lab technician for 14 years.  I went back to school in 2009 and received my Masters in Elementary Education and teaching certificate from St. Xavier University, with my first teaching job in Glenwood, IL teaching 8th grade science.  I became a 7th grade science teacher at Brooks in 2011, moving to 8th grade langugae arts the following year. I completed my Masters in Educational Leadership from Olivet Nazarene University and became the dean in the fall of 2016.  My job here is to be a resource for students and parents, building relationships, and keeping the students safe.  I have been a youth football coach for almost 30 years, and have enjoyed watching many of my players move on to excell in high school, college, and a few in the pros!  I coach boys basketball here at Brooks, as well as girls softball.  I love spending time with my family, watching movies, and playing softball.  In the spring and summer I am a certified umpire, working at many different levels of boys baseball and girls softball.  I am also a HUGE Disney fan, and take my family to Walt Disney World every chance I get!
