Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Amy Stone

I received my undergraduate degree from Saint Mary's Universary in Winona, Minnesota.  I continued my education at the University of Illinois in Chicago recieveing my Master's in Education Degree.  With this degree I became a third grade teacher in Chicago Public School in Bridgeport.  I held this position for nine years.  In this time, I fell in love with children's literature and decided to continue my education at Roosevelt University with a Master's in Reading.  It was at this time I found Pioneer Elementary as my home to teach the love of reading to students of all ages, kindergarten through fifth grade.  I am beginning my eighth year at Pioneer.  I spent the first seven years as a reading interventionist and I currently push-in to classrooms as a Core-Curriculum Literacy Leader (CCLL), supporting students and teachers through best practice.
