HOMETOWN: Ord, Nebraska
FAMILY: I am the youngest of 4 children; I have 3 older brothers. Two of my brothers are teachers and the third is a principal. My dad is a high school Business teacher and the athletic director of my hometown high school; my mom runs an in-home daycare. I have no children, but I do have 2 dogs; Riggins is a Pomeranian and Frankie is a Great Dane.
CAREER: This is my fifth year of teaching. I taught for Papillion La Vista Community Schools in Nebraska my first year. While teaching at Papillion La Vista, I worked with students in grades 3-6 who had a variety of disabilities. I moved to the Chicago area in the summer of 2016. The 2016-2017 school year was my first year co-teaching at Oak View.
EDUCATION: I graduated from Ord Jr-Sr High School in May 2011 and went on to study Elementary Education at Concordia University Nebraska. While at Concordia, I chose to maintain my major in Elementary Education, but also added on the Special Education endorsement. I graduated from Concordia in May 2015 with my Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education, a Special Education (K-12) Endorsement, and a Lutheran Teacher Diploma. In 2018, I graduated with a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with an endorsement in English as a Second Language (ESL) from Concordia University Chicago.
HOBBIES: I enjoy spending time with my family, my boyfriend, and my 2 dogs. I also enjoy cooking and baking, as well as reading. I love to travel to see friends and family, and I enjoy working out.
