    All Jane Addams Students are invited to join the activities and clubs sponsored throughout the year. From Art Club to Winter Running Club, there is something for everyone! 
     

    Academic

    Academic Achievement Club
    Sponsor Name(s): Ms. Haptas and Ms Paulson
    Study skills, strategies, and creating a plan for success.

    AM Homework Club
    Sponsor Name(s): Ms. McDermott
    Checkout a book or finish your homework before the day starts. The LMC is open most mornings. 

    Book Club
    All students are welcome to join book club. Listen to the announcements for meeting dates. We meet in the LMC after school from 2:45-3:45.

    Mathletes

    Math Club meets bi-weekly to work on math problems in preparation for competition.

    National Junior Honor Society (Invitation only)

    Sponsor Name(s): Mrs. Biasco and Ms. Bruno
    National Junior Honor Society is a service organization, first and foremost. Students who are part of NJHS have high academic achievement, excellent behavior, and do their part to serve others. Activities include a food drive, clothing drive, Valentine's Day Candygrams, sponsoring a dance, and various service projects. 

    Scholastic Bowl (IESA Activity)
    Sponsor Name(s): Mr. Ploger
    Scholastic Bowl is a fun, fast-paced academic competition for students. People who like Jeopardy, Trivial Pursuit, reading, and those who get joy out of increasing their knowledge often participate in this activity. In a match, two teams of five vie to answer the most questions quickly and correctly, using an electronic buzzer system. The questions cover a wide range of topics. 

    STEM Club

    Meets bi-weekly to prepare for the district STEMcathalon

    Tutoring Center
    Sponsor Name(s): Mrs. Martin
    Support for homework and access to technology to complete assignments three days a week after school.



    Community


    Builders Club
    Sponsor Name(s): Mrs. Ingebrigtsen
    We build leaders out of our youth through community service. 
     
    Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) Club
    Sponsor Name(s): Mrs. Nadia Gage
    Opportunities for cooking, baking, crafts, demonstrating teamwork and experiencing lots of laughs while making friends.   
     
    Spirit Club
    Sponsor Name(s): Ms. Andrews
    JAMS' Biggest Fan Club. We cheer in the stands and dance for athletic teams.
     
    Student Council
    Sponsor Name(s): Mrs. Gage and Mrs. Wilmer
    All students are welcome to participate in the Student Council. The Student Council fosters communication among students, faculty and administration and promotes civic participation and service for the benefit of our school and the greater community. 


    Creative


    Craft Club
    Sponsor Name(s): Mrs. McCollum and Ms. Paulson
    The Craft Club is for students in all grades who enjoy painting, drawing, and doing crafts. If you like being creative, then Craft Club is the club for you!
     
    Beginning Band
    Sponsor Name(s): Mrs. Zabinski
    Any student in 6th, 7th or 8th grade may participate in a Beginning Band class. These classes last a full school year and are offered during the school day and after school. Students who are supported with a two-period Math Block in their schedule will not have Beginning Band during the regular school day, but may participate in an After-School Beginning Band class (This class is treated as an 11th period in the school day.) All Beginning Band classes perform together at the Winter Concert in December and the Spring Concert in May each year.
     
    Choir
    Sponsor Name(s): Mr. Kleager
    For students who enjoy singing and performing, choir presents two concerts a year, attends choir festivals and sings for graduation.

    Drama Club
    Sponsor Name(s): Mrs. Dudek and Ms. Miller
    Composed of 6th, 7th and 8th grade students who share an interest in promoting theatre, Drama Club performs two plays during the school year: one in the fall and one in the spring. 

    Jazz Band
    Sponsor Name(s): Mrs. Zabinski
    Any student who has completed Beginning Band may join Jazz Band. We rehearse on most Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 7:30 – 8:10am in the band room. The Jazz Band performs at the Winter Concert in December and the Spring Concert in May. This class is not for a grade.
     
    Multicultural Club
    Sponsor Name(s): Ms. Andrews
    Each month a different culture is honored and celebrated: language of origin, different foods, and overal culture is explored.
     
    Newspaper Club
    Sponsor Name(s): Mrs. O'Brien
    Are you interested in getting the inside scoop at JAMS? If you like writing, reporting, interviewing, and publishing you should join!
     
    Yearbook Club
    Sponsor Name(s): Ms.Potete
    The school yearbook committee is open to all students interested in learning how to put together the events of the school year for a yearbook. Students will be expected to type well, be creative with layouts, and will learn how to use a computer based yearbook program.
     
    Spirit Club
    Sponsor Name(s): Ms. Andrews
    Come out an cheer in the stands for our athletes and teams.  Make signs for lockers and rock the stands! Every team needs fans!

    DJ/ Technology Club

    Spin the "records" for school dances!
     
    Robotics Club
    Sponsor Name(s): Mrs. England and Mr. Tancl
    The group will focus on researching, building, programming and presenting a robot in a FIRST Lego League Competition.
